Grease...yeah, can't let the kids watch

I have always loved the music from Grease. I somehow did not see it until college, but immediately bought the soundtrack and memorized every song. But because I have memorized every song, I worry as to what they will do for Grease, Live! It's a Sunday night. I don't want to explain certain terms to children tonight.

UPDATE: They just sang "Greased Lightening" and the girls were in here. I was sweating it a bit. No, a lot. They changed all the bad terms, thank goodness. I have to say I am enjoying it. No Craterface this version. Hatchet face instead. Too much to think about and type right now. I need to go watch this.

A quick one...before we play

It has been a nice, calm Saturday for the most part. The two youngers went to soccer practice for a couple hours this morning. G got a little bit of an overdose of coach this morning...easy to do. After she got home, ate and cleaned up, we went to go look for a new dress for the father daughter dance. Seeing her in all the different dresses was yet another reminder of how fast time has gone and how grown up she is. Hard to believe really. We had success for both her and for her sister, thank goodness, so that is another item checked off the list.

We are currently awaiting the boy's arrival from upstairs. A violent game of Spoons is about to take place. If you hear screaming, you'll know what it is.

Tired mama

I had one of those at home parties at the house tonight and had a pretty good turnout. I am not the best entertainer and worry a lot about what people will think of the house and the food and the smells and the decor. I need to just be glad that people are nice enough to show up. I had a good turn out and people bought several items. Everything has been cleaned up and put away and I am ready to get in the bathtub and go to bed. And so I think I will.

One thing. Please pray for those who suffer with addiction...any type. We have two situations going on right now with people we know or know through others. Pray for peace from the demons and peace for their families. My heart breaks for them. Devastating.

One more thing. Please pray for the hub's aunt as she is in the hospital after a surgery that did not go as expected. His dad has flown out to help his brother in law and to be with his sister. Travel mercies and healing.

Thanks so much. Night all.

Slow Pizza Death

I am preparing for a get together at the ranch tomorrow. I was convinced to have an at home selling stuff party for Norwex. No, I am not trying to solicit sales ove the blog. just telling you which one it is. I have been given orders to not clean for the week so the consultant can show how effective their products are. The dog came in with muddy paws today. A friend told me to leave them...I'm not sure I can do it. Anyway, I was doing some straightening and putting away of junk and got tired of it, so I decided to splurge and get a small pizza from a small pizza chain. No plans to eat it all, just enjoy a few pieces. They sure did taste good, but then a shoe probably would have since I only had coffee and no breakfast. Since ingesting it, I now feel like I am being tortured by a slow pizza death. Okay, maybe not death, but something caustic. Apparently there are not enough TUMS and antacid products to knock it down. Bleh.

Let's all pray I make it through the night acid free. Yuck

The great battle of Ramen

Whether or not you have been to college or in a period away from home, I think most people have tried those sodium packed curls of easy goodness known as Ramen noodles.  I did not discover them until my junior year at college, but discover them I did.  My water intake also increased that year.  Now that I am a mother and live in a home with a full kitchen, I can make better choices for meals.  On rare occasions, when people are sick, the food that feels good in their tummies is some version of .37 cent crunchy sodium bombs.  When the girls were planning for their youth trip this past weekend, they both were given the list items of ramen and easy mac.  When they ended up not going and staying in a hotel suite/condo thing, the ramen returned to our house and has now become the source of violent arguments in our home.  The hub just texted me at work that the girls are about to come to blows over those #$%& noodles.  I think there must be an underlying issue, but I have not arrived home yet to flesh out that theory.  I know G is stressed about her sports physical from track because she heard through the grapevine that you have to get at least one shot.  S?  I don't know what her problem is yet.  She did get to witness a pretty disturbing fight at school today.  Maybe that wrecked her mood.  Either way, I dread my arrival at the ranch.  Things maybe ugly and covered in creamy chicken powder...or pork...or chicken...or beef...or shrimp.  no, not shrimp.  They haven't gotten that flavor yet.

Save yourselves.  Don't give your loved ones their first taste of this cheap meal.  They are a gateway food that leads to nothing but violence.

Can the snow come back?

I know the children need to go to school, but I really want another couple of snow days...and I think that the kids would not argue. We have 10 snow days, why not use them? Waste not want not. Just my opinion.

I am mourning the death of the fabulous Abe Vigoda. He has always been one of my favorites, from The Godfather to Barney Miller to Good Burger(the kids loved him in that). And he is also one of the few actors who really has looked the same his whole career. I will miss him terribly.

I have good news. My friend got her results back from her breast biopsy and they were clear! I am so very happy for her and know she must be beyond relieved.

I may go turn on The Godfather in honor and memory of Abe.

Creativity Fail

I am not going to say I am a gourmet at all. No way, but I think I'm a decent cook. I can ad lib a recipe when I need to and I have created a few originals that I am quite proud of and pretty tasty. Tonight I tried to ad lib with one of my old standards and it was a super flop. I did not enjoy the taste. My oldest like it and so did the boys. You can always tell when G is not a fan of something, because the time it takes her to finish her portion is longer than what it takes to make, eat and clean up the meal. She pushed her peppers around the plate and arranged them into exciting designs. Got it, kid, not a fan. I wasn't either...and I made a crock pot full enough for two days worth of meals. Guess I'll be having some cereal tomorrow.

I don't know much of anything else. I got to work childcare tonight and had a good time with a little three year old. We built and built and built all evening. I miss the preschool years. Mine are growing too fast. Time slow down.

Not much to say tonight

I am so tired tonight. Insomnia comes in like a horrible specter and disrupts any possibilities of sleep these days. I sat and yawned through my dinner tonight. Honestly, I'm surprised I didn't fall asleep in my plate, but I know I will lay in bed tonight and twiddle my thumbs while I listen to the hub breathe and my sound machine(currently set in the "Relax" mode) hum or buzz or whatever it does. Hopefully tonight will bring different results.

I ask that you please pray for a dear friend of mine who is having a biopsy tomorrow. She is a breast cancer survivor and has found something again. We are hoping for scar tissue. Please pray for her.

Night, dear readers.

Oh well....

Well, the snow came and went and left about an inch. What a way wah waaaahh moment for the supposed major winter storm for our area. The boy and I have worked hard all day to get our house clean and get treats made for a shower. His major reward, which he begged for, was a remote controlled vehicle from Walgreen's for $9.99. Worth every penny, my friends, every penny. I just finished scrubbing the last bathroom and now we are snuggled up with the dog watching America's Funniest Videos. I'm wiped.

Sad and Snowy State

Well, Snowmageddon part two is currently in the beginning stages of hitting us again. Normally I am celebrating the arrival of the white fluffy stuff, but since this area is less than properly equipped for lots of white stuff, panic sets in quickly. The girls and the hub were set to leave with the church youth group for Resurrection at 5:30. Before our poor youth director finally put down the defibrillator paddles and called it, several chaperones had backed out in concern of the weather and the bus company delivered the finally death nail and cancelled their drivers. I feel so bad for him, because he was in a lose lose situation. So now, we have two very disappointed and upset girls. I get it, but the chips kept stacking up against the whole situation working out. So now, as far as I'm concerned, let it snow and snow and snow. At least the kids can go out and pelt each other to relieve some frustration.

I'm going to go put my feet up and snuggle with my family.

Well, apparently it's coming...

Well after multiple text alerts, it appears that Snowmageddon 2016 #1 is on its way to East Tennessee. The hub and our girls are set to leave for Resurrection, a big youth conference that the kids live for every year, about 4 hours after the snow is supposed to hit and cover the land. My girls are in a panic that their weekend will be ruined. I am worried that if their weekend is cancelled that mine will then be ruined(Ha). School has apparently been cancelled again tomorrow since the monster storm will hit before school is out and that snow and ice are still on the back roads. When you live around here, back roads are hilly and curvy and terrifying. I get it. I'll let you know how it turns out.

I guess it worked!

Well, school got canceled last night before any snow even arrived and when I woke up at 3am, there was NO snow on the ground. I feared that we would have a repeat of a few years ago. They called school the night before and nothing happened. After that, the administration erred on the complete opposite side to where we really shouldn't have been going to school and we were. Poor people are damned if they do and damned if they don't. Anyway, when the hub got up to get ready for work there was a dusting of snow on the yard and a little bit more on the street. The kids got up, we ate waffles that goofed and then it started coming down with a little more purpose. By the time we suited up and got outside, it was was really coming down. What followed was a day of snowball fights and sledding and snow cream and more sledding and snow dogs and cookie delivery and more sledding. The hub and I even took a few runs ourselves even if the getting up from the ground gets a little less fun every time. We'll be feeling it tomorrow.

Night, friends. I'm tired.

Will it or won't it

Right now, children all over the county are in various states of superstitious snow prep in response to the recent weather reports. My son buzzed right into the house with a long to do list. Our Wisconsin relatives have discussed this with us before that they were not aware of the different things children and snow loving parents need to do to "tempt" snow into these parts. I get it. When they don't have to wonder whether or not they will have a snow-less season, these important steps are not required. So, for those of you who live in snow country and are unfamiliar with the "proper steps", I will give you the checklist.

1. Ice cubes go in the toilets. It is up for debate as to how many cubes go in but, as evidenced by how many the boy kept carrying out of the kitchen, I would say quantity is a bonus.

2. Spoons under pillows, well, the pillows in your bed. Our picnic stash of plastic ware is significantly depleted now. Apparently more is better in that department, too. We could probably have an ice cream party just in the G and the boy's room from their stash alone. Not sure the significance, but whatever.

3. White crayons in the freezer. Yeah, they just get weirder for sure. Snow=white and in the freezer=cold. But the blasted crayons are in there...right between the ice cream and boo boo bunny cubes.

4. Lastly, at least in our house, is your bedtime wardrobe. Pajamas must be inside out and backwards. This is not nearly as fun as it might sound. Especially if buttons are involved...not good. I won't go into the time that one of the children decided to wear the fleece footed onesie pajamas inside out and backward. Just that it involved a middle of the night wake up call for assistance in the bathroom. Yeah.

I hope we get some snow days this year. Last year's snow days brought with them some of the best memories that we will keep forever...even if I did almost break my leg going entirely too fast down the hill on an old school sled. Good times.

Night all.

Ugh and hack and ugh and hack

I have dodged bullets for long enough and finally got hit with the itchy throat and cough and yuck one. The hub is on his way to the Kroger right now to try and prove or disprove the rumor that Blue Bell ice cream is back in town, so he is picking up some meds for me that will hopefully work. Until then, I am going to boil myself in the shower and hope to get unchilled before bedtime. I must share, however, before I start the bedtime process. I took the kids shopping today for a little bit to get out of the house. I needed to get a wedding gift and they had some Christma money burning holes in their pockets. At a popular store with a bullseye as its symbol, they decided to spend their own money on foofy blended beverages from a popular drink place based out of the Pacific Northwest that ruffled a bunch of people's feathers with their unholy holiday cups. Anyhoo, the girls made their purchases and I was helping the boy make his choice of a NO coffee beverage. One of the college aged employees came out of the bathroom chewing his nails, which already grossed me out a bit, and was headed straight towards making someone's order when he spit the nail piece out of his mouth onto the area with clean blenders and flavorings and open stuff. I let out an audible gasp and the lady next to me shot me a dirty look. Another employee handed the boy his drink and I struggled with the choice as to what to do if anything. I ended up calling the store in the parking lot and explaining in a very polite manner the situation. The manager or floor person or first poor soul they grabbed listened and "I'll take care of it. Thanks. Click.". I was a little annoyed by that. I would be horrified at the potential of serving a white mocha nail chunk-a-chino, but whatever. C'est la vie.

Enjoy that story as you sip a soothing beverage before bed or over your morning bagel. I'm kind of skeeved out.

Cooking class

The kids and I have been watching "Worst Cooks in America" on the Food Network and have been taking notes. I've messed in the kitchen since I was a mere pup and the kids have as well. Some enjoy it and are a lot more at home than others, but they try their best. Today S wanted to make dinner and really wanted some potato soup which sounded really good on a cold kind of "meh" day such as today. There were a few mishaps and I turned into Ann or Bobby from the show to talk about keeping the cook station neat or making their cuts uniform. She tasted as she went so as not to overseason, but to add just the right amount. The soup was quite tasty and hearty and we all wanted to lick our bowls clean, but used our manners and did not. Cooking school was fun today, but I am tired and ready to get out of the kitchen. Alas, they found a dessert involving Nutella, pound cake and the panini maker, so we are in for gourmet delights in a little bit. I think I'll let the hub supervise that one.

May the force be with you...and also with you

Just came home from my 7 year old cousin's Star Wars birthday party. It was a wild and fun time. The themed snacks and drinks and decorations were great. The pool noodle light sabers were the hit of the party and the kids beat the crap out of each other all evening. The kids were cracking me up as they were showing the church rituals they couldn't quite break out of for the party. "May the force be with you!" said one of the kids. Mine and one other shouted, "And also with you!". Leave it to the Catholics and Methodists to bring some responsive reading in there. It was funny. We are now home and trying to get warm as the building was a bit drafty. I think I could boil myself in a pot on the stove and it wouldn't be warm enough at this point. What I wouldn't give for the electric blanket and Granny-made flannel pajamas of my youth. Bliss.

Going to snuggle up with a child and hope for the best.

Night with my oldest

I am currently sitting on the couch in my pjs watching The Office with my oldest. We rarely get chances like this anymore. She's getting older and more solitary in her ways around this house. I am grateful for this time and I am not going to waste it.

I will say I got to eat lunch with the boy and spend some time with him. He was excited to see me there. That kid is something.

He got to watch a magic show by his favorite magician as a reward at school. Our friend Ed is truly the most interesting man in the world, at least in our opinion. He can do everything and anything. The boy got to be an assistant for one trick. Beyond thrilled:

Night all. Gonna go laugh at Dwight with my girl.

Heavy load

I have a lot of information to process tonight and I am kind of sad and brain dead. One of my top three favorite actors passed away and I am so very sad. A friend is in the middle of a medical scare and is awaiting more information. My mother is still suffering with her neck. Just a lot of suffering people and I feel helpless when it comes to aiding them.

Sorry to be Debbie Downer of the blogosphere. Rough week.

Going to go turn on my white noise machine I got for Christmas, which is GREAT, and attempt to go to sleep.

Down in the dumpsy

I have hit a period of blahness in my life.  Maybe it is the back to school blues or the post Christmas funk...not really sure.  I have plenty to do in the course of a day.  There is no lack of a honey do list at our house.  Even if I didn't do cleaning and straightening, I could be sewing creatures to bulk up my supply for baby gifts and Easter baskets.  Am I doing any of that?  Not really.  I just want to take a nap.  Well, multiple naps.  I go down in the basement, put a load in the laundry, turn the lights off and conk out.  Great job there chickie.  You just wasted perfectly good time that you could be doing, well, anything.  I need to stop.

Just pray I get out of my funk.  I fear my sloth and blahs are contagious and bleed over to the children.  They don't need to be infected by me.

I need to not go to meetings

The hub and I just returned home from a Band Boosters' meeting and I am exhausted. Not necessarily because of the meeting. It is at the end of the day and everyone is exhausted. We did have to break up a sibling war on words before we left and were set and ready to leave the meeting early to break up another one. I have no patience for sitting in meetings. It could be a meeting about how I had been chosen to be a non-industry voting member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and get to view every Oscar nominated movie(one of my dreams)and I would be in pure hell. I can't sit still. I have a million questions I'd like to ask but won't for fear of being the butt of jokes. I would have to sit in a chair, hopefully at a table that would hide my jimmy legs. The boosters were as pleasant as I could hope and I got to have a few chuckles and see the band directors in a different situation. There are some exciting things coming up and some exciting things in the future...but I'm glad to bed in my pajamas watching "The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou" right now. Yes, I'm a bad person not watching the State of the Union. Bad me.

Are they made of gold?

In a couple of weeks, my girls are going on a weekend trip with the youth group to a youth conference. Things are different this year; they used to have separate weekends for both middle and high school. Now, all youth go together. God bless the adults who have to go(my husband is one of them). The lodging arrangements this year include a swimming pool, so the girls would have to go shopping for new suits. They have both sprouted and we wanted them to look appropriate. They tried on suits while I went to get the boy highlighters and glue sticks for school. They are both thrifty kids and I trusted their judgement when I took the suits up to checkout. Highlighters...beep. Glue sticks...beep. Clearance workout pants for gym...beep. I start looking at a magazine and listen to the beeps in the background. She gives me my total. What the what?!?! I did not remember putting cold bricks in the cart. Are those suits made of spun silver and unicorn hair? Good golly Ned. The poor hub about blew a gasket when he heard the price...and I cannot blame him at all.

Just a word. One of my very favorite artists and musicians passed away last night. David Bowie blew my mind with everything he did. I can remember sitting with my brother, watching a new channel called MTV and watching David Bowie's "Ashes to Ashes" video with our mouths gaping in wonder. The world's loss is great and the artistic light is much dimmer this evening. He will always be one of my very favorites. Godspeed, Mr. Bowie.

Night of dread

As I have said many times before, I love award show season. Even though I am not a girly girl, I love to see all fancy dresses and spiffed up gents on the red carpet. It is excessive and I feel guilty that one of those dresses could probably feed a small country for a year, but it makes for entertaining television for me. I have always wanted, not so secretly, to be involved in the entertainment industry...maybe as a quip writer for people during their speeches or their presentations. The hub, on the other hand, HATES award season. Hate doesn't even seem to be strong enough for what he feels. He is currently downstairs watching a football game and avoiding having to come and watch TV with me. The dog is enduring the process with me...after I pulled her off of my neck bone pillow and had a heart to heart about chewing things she isn't supposed to chew:

I am recording Downton Abbey and wil most likely have to watch it tomorrow or later. Golden Globes are my priority tonight. Let's hope Ricky Gervais can somewhat behave himself. Yeah, who am I kidding.

Here kitty kitty

I have a new niece as of this morning...a niece of the feline variety. I'm not going to lie; cats scare me quite a bit. We never grew up with cats and the ones we had contact with were not the nicest. A schoolmate had one and it was super mean. Whenever I had dinner over at their house, I was advised to always wear shoes and to sit Chris cross applesauce in my chair at the dinner table. I never understood why until the day the cat attacked my feet, biting and scratching them. Terrifying. We also had relatives who always had strange animals roaming around their house. To their credit, they tried to rescue animals that had been in abusive homes, but the animals they got were almost too far gone to be around, well, any humans. You basically had to sit like a statue while their feral animals circled you. They had a cat that, while the calmest of all their animals(except for the piranha the glared at you from the fish tank), was another animal you were warned not to touch. Another friend I had growing up had a cat who always chose my FACE to lay on when I spent the night at her house...right after it got off of its bed...their kitchen table. It jumped up on the table right before dinner, stood in the pan with the cooked ham in it and ate from the ham. The mom just cut off the part the cat ate and then served it to us for dinner. So, yeah, I have cat issues and I am sorry.

We went to visit the new addition today and I have to say, she was very calm. Two of our three were with me and, I'm ashamed to say, were a little freaked out because of their mother's issues with felines. She was lovely and jumped right up between them and settled in for a nice nap and scratch. For having only been in their house 4 hours, she was quite well adjusted and patient. She is a talker, which I always find entertaining. I am excited my my brother and sister in law. They have endured such loss from their furry children over the past year and need to have a new companion to bring some animal excitement into their house. It will be a learning curve for all of us in our house, but one we are glad to take on. I need to conquer my cat phobia so I will not pass it on to my children. I will always and forever be a dog devotee, but I'm ready to get to know this new furry friend.

I'm going to go have my Saturday night bowl of ice cream and get to bed soon. Work comes early tomorrow.

Night all.

An 80's primer

My oldest and I have been binge watching clips of Lip Sync Battle(well, the clean ones). As often happens with us, one clip leads to a question about something which leads to another clip. For example, John Krasinski lip sync'ed to Tina Turner singing "Proud Mary". At one point, he rips off his suit to reveal a Turner-esque dress to dance. S found it funny, but didn't get why he did what he did, so I had to show her the Tina and Ike video...and I'm rather ashamed(and a little surprised)that I hadn't showed it to her before now. That led to another lip sync battle on Jimmy Fallon with Tom Cruise...which led to showing her Top Gun(Righteous Brothers) and Risky Business(Bob Seger) clips. Which led to me showing her the condensed catalog of Kenny Loggins, which led to Stevie Nicks and then to Kevin Bacon and Footloose...which ended with Kevin Bacon on "Will and Grace" doing "Footloose". She got more than she bargained for, but it needed to be done. These kids need a little education on '80's culture every now and then.

Time to go watch another throwback to the 80's: The Goldbergs.

Heavy Heart

The specter of addiction is a horrible one. Horrible. I have had people, as we all have, in my life who have struggled with the burden of addiction. It is a tragic thing to watch...a helpless feeling. We have a program at our church, Celebrate Recovery, that serves people in recovery for all types of different issues and offers help to those who love those in recovery. It has changed lots of lives and is a wonderful addition to our church and its programming. We have a friend who is struggling right now...someone who is very special to us. Say a prayer for healing for all those struggling. Let them know and feel surrounded by love and support.

Quick post

I have little time to really talk this evening. I'm between tummy troubles and putting laundry away that has been put off for far too long. We had our first Wednesday night programming at church for the new year. I played bells and must admit we didn't get too much accomplished with our visiting. It was nice to see everybody. I went on a search and got S a new pitch pipe so she can more accurately tune a timpani at Senior CLinic auditions this weekend. Regardless of whether she gets in a band or not, I am so proud of the work she has done to prepare for the weekend. She was supposed to have more more practice today after school, but a pesky bracket came off and she had to get that mended. We are on the home stretch with that silver smile and she could not be happier. G will be stepping into her shoes almost immediately after the others come off. Not much of a break financially, but they will all have corrected mouths.

I know of nothing else to say except that I am, especially tonight, a super fan of the Tums soft chews. They are my new heroes.

We survived!

The children had their first day of school today and were even in fairly good moods when I picked them up. It was difficult trying to get up this morning and I had to hear my alarm a few seconds and stare at it a while before I turned it off and got up. The boy popped up quickly and the others got up faster than I expected. I probably had the worst time with it. After I got home from work, the house was so empty and quiet. I didn't deal well with it. Pick up was a happy time for me...I missed their faces all day long. We had family dinner together and then S and I went back out to Target to buy her the proper clothes for her Wellness class. If I had known there was a particular wardrobe required, she would have gotten it for Christmas. I did get tickled when, after I asked her what they will do in the class, she answered, "We are going to walk a lot, run a lot and learn about sex. That's all the teacher said." HAHAHAHA!!! Should be interesting.

Night all. That laugh and our early wake up time have made me sleepy.

School tomorrow...ugh

School starts tomorrow and I dread it. I am making everybody check their backpacks to make sure everything is good. They are laying out their clothes tonight so they don't have to scramble to find them in their fog tomorrow...I maybe should do that also. I'm about to wrangle them up to start winding down for bed. The teenager will go to bed later, but I'm praying she will conk out early and surprise herself. Pray for all of us and all of those students and school staff who return tomorrow. Everyone is going to be a little off their game I imagine. I know I will be.

Night all. The hot shower I took just zapped me of energy and I am ready for bed. I am such an exciting person.

One more night...

It is our last night to sleep in before Christmas break is over and school comes back. The kids are starting to get short tempers and snippy with each other, so they are ready even if they won't admit it. I am not. I have a death grip on "Winter Break" and I don't want to let it go. It flew by in the blink of an eye and I don't know where it went. My hope is that we get some good snows this year to provide a few more lazy days in the midst of the crazy. Semester two starts on Tuesday and our weekend is already packed. Jeepers. Oh well. it all works out as it should. I am finding more and more that as the children get older, the year's fly by. It seems like just yesterday I was holding S as a baby and now she is 14. Wow.

I am going to have some Sunday night ice cream. I have been saving up calories for this. Then I'm going to play some cards with my kids and go to bed. I am a party animal.

New Year's resolution #23456

I make and break resolutions every year. I'm ashamed to admit it, but I do think I am not the only one who does. I have decided that I need to just work on myself, but in a different way. I need to learn to be happy with myself and not compare myself to others and not take things personally when I may not be part of a group. I need to be happy with me and know that I am a good person and being me is enough. I sound like some Saturday Night Live sketch or something. We'll see if I can make that one stick. Maybe other things will fall into place if I get that one squared away. Maybe.

I am watching another one of my favorite Twilight Zone episodes. I love it so much:

I'm a weirdo I know. Night all.

Marathoning...not the healthy kind

I have not been a total sloth today, let me say that first. We took the kids geocaching. They did it a little with their aunt, uncle and cousin last week, but had no luck finding anything. Today we were able to find one that had been found yesterday. G was the final finder of it hanging in a tree good and camoflaged:

The boy also had a chance to practice throwing the boomerang Santa gave him. It is actually pretty fun to play with I must say. We finally gave up on the other two we were looking for since it was finally seasonally cold today. The hub decided to make his first batch of home brew and the kids and I watched several episodes of the Twilight Zone. The New Year's marathon is always my favorite and watching Billy Mumy wish people into the cornfield, William Shatner see a fuzzy demented looking teddy bear on the wing of a plane or Telly Savalas lose a battle to Talky Tina brings me great pleasure.

I have a sweet boy who wants to snuggle with his mother and I will take that all day every day.

Night all.
